Again, we all know there are serious problems, and they need to be addressed, yet, the people in charge still insist we must not have oversite or verification into voting.

it started last night, robocalls from the pawlenty for governor campaign...
the area code that showed up on caller id was from dallas texas. (although most are coming from "private")
now, this morning, i'm up to 7 calls from robospammers & climbing.
Every one that i've listened to was for republicans (the tim pawlenty machine has called at least twice).
I checked the donotcall.gov database, and verified that my number is indeed in that list...
however...
"Political solicitations are not covered by the TSR at all, since they are not included in its definition of “telemarketing.”
I am particularly anal about not giving out my digits for any reason, especially since all i have is a cell phone, and any call i get during before 9pm on a weekday, i am paying for.
I'm not sure, but, it seems all too likely of a possibility that my digits have been extracted from the freaking donotcall list, cuz i sure as fuck dont give it out to telemarketers.
yeah, i know, put on my tin foil hat, blah blah blah...regardless, these fuckin bitches is pissing me off. oh, i'm up to 8 republican robocalls so far. Maybe the democrats are doing it just to make me hate republicans that much more...

This started out as a short response to something in mhuot's lj bloggy thing...but, when i tried to post it,i was told that i used too many characters (d'oh! - thats the sign that me ranteth too much)...anyways, realizing its probably not all that nice to go on such a giant rant on someone elses bloggy thing...i am just gonna post it here and let anyone who wants to read it...
First, the thing that made start ranting was mhuot was wondering why the fuck we are still in iraq and the republicans insist on staying there, and why absolutely no one has been held accountable for the colossal repeated and continuing mistakes...then someone said something about Hillary Clinton...
And for the record, i really hate her. (Begin rant now)
Hillary, like many democrats & imho, all republicans, is a fucking tool.
I cant say that enough times for the veracity of my opinion of her to ring true.
I cant even count how many times i have heard her whine for the elemination of the first amendment (she has said so many times that she is in favor of banning certain types of music, films, art & especially video games) in order to make her uppity rich democratic contributors & electorate happy.
Her integrity doesnt reside in the constitution or whats best for a free america, it rests with special interest groups & her own tenuous grip on power, and whatever the fuck she has to do to keep it.
She and most other democrats know they dont have a firm grip on power & will say whatever they think the electorate wants at any given moment so as not to take any chances on losing an election.
One of the things that greatly distorts this democracy is the influence of money. Money can also buy great amounts of "spin" and in this millenium, spin is all thats needed to coerce the american people into letting their government commit any sort of heinous actions.
Spin means that ending a war without having all people in enemy territory submit gleefully to our military's might is now eternally known as "cutting and running".
eternal war is merely "staying the course" (but, they never said that).
Habeas corpus is subject the whim of the president & anyone who he deems a terrorist or in league with terrorists (such as anyone not voting republican).
Democracy was never all that great of an idea, imho, and now, its been completely perverted, it is entirely broken. Our country was easily misled to begin with, but, the sickness that perverts it is now in a lockstep march towards a greater dictatorship, as the safeguards our forefathers counted on to protect us from that have been whittled away to be mere shells of what they once were, such as an electorate informed by the free media, which has undeniably been thoroughly corrupted by money & corporate power, as well as an openly crooked electoral system designed to solidify the grip on power between only 2 factions, neither of which has the best interests of the people of our country as a priority.
Regarding Iraq:
We are got in there because when attacked on 911, we as a nation looked for our governmental daddy to avenge/protect us because of the terrible attack in nyc.
Our fearless leader (the guy who keeps reminding us why we should continue to be in fear, and continue to give him more power) & his crony neocons knew they were issued a blank check with the american military and they wrote one small one in afghanistan, a large one in iraq & an even bigger one to the corporations who helped & continue to help keep their grip on power as firm as possible.
If they had sold the story right, america would have been just as fine with attacking canadia (shock and eh?) with the same ferocity (although, heck, the results there probably would have been better than the quagmire we are in now).
Our governmental father figure, w, and his cronies have stated long before they ever got into office that they wanted to control iraq, so that america has a strategic hold on the mid-east and particularly oil. They see oil as power, and money and saddam as the easiest to defeat with the greatest strategic benefit to their desires of true worldwide american/neocon power.
The neocons are rich powerful bullies who think god is guiding them/america on the path to rule the world, and their only concern is their own world view and anyone who doesnt share their view is the enemy.
As long as we are over there, the middle easts religious & political leaders get to say the same thing our leaders said after 911...we are under attack, we must rally to fight the enemy lest we all be destroyed.
History has repeated this scenario so many times its not even funny anymore...

The middle east has the same problem we do, religious power-mongers in charge and using fear of the other team of religious power-mongers as a stable foothold to keep their iron grip on power as firm as possible.

Due to the disastrous handling of Hurricane Katrina and the fact that Bush's cronyism left New Orleans to face doom with only hinderance from F.E.M.A. instead of help, congress passed a law to stop unqualified and inept people with no experience or knowhow being placed in a such a job that could jeopardize the lives of millions in a disaster...
Whew...glad they passed a law to stop that from happening.
I'm so glad we would never allow that to happen again...

"Who Killed The Electric Car"

Its all about the murder of the General Motors EV1
Its a very sad, damning movie regarding the fact that we all could be easily driving exhaust free, cheap, easy to maintain, safe, fast cars...
The technology is here, it can be done, but, thanks to capitalism & corporate democracy, we are stuck with expensive, crappy, exhaust belching cars that practicly run on the blood of our soldiers who are dying to keep our interests in the middle east safe for our masters.

The technology is here for what we need. Its everything we need. Its been built, tested, proven and is succesful, cheap, convenient and people want it.

It has been lied about, buried, and destroyed and hidden from you. This movie tells you how and why and offers all the proof that the crime of the century just happened, all to benefit greedy capitalists.

I not only recommend watching this film, but, also, shoving it at other people.
There isn't much else I can do, but to shove this film at people, and sadly, to encourage people to not buy American cars.
